The JDSU ERM 568 high speed optical receivers are designed to meet the requirements of short reach and intermediate reach SONET transponders. The receivers may also be used in the client side of optical systems; for example, in optical add/drop multiplexers. The very small form factor package saves valuable board space in compact transponders for SONET applications. These receivers combine high sensitivity and high overload characteristics.
