Victoreen CDV-717 Model 1 Radiological Survey Meter w/Manual
I put a new battery in the unit and when I set the dial to Circuit check, depending on the position of the dial is set when I zero the meter it just makes it to the range on the meter scale that is marked in red "circuit check". I do not know if it is supposed to work that way or if the battery is weak or if possibly something is wrong.
Even though I am familiar with most of the equipment I am not a technician and can not check this item out beyond a basic power up and/or self test if that function is available. I try to describe as accurately as possible and list as much as I know about the item. I also pop the covers when able and inspect for missing or burned components, water damage, obvious signs of attempt at repair, and anything else that is obvious to someone with a limited technical background
