Plastic finishing tumbling vibratory media
Polyester or resin-bonded media, better known generally as "plastic media," was developed to provide finishes not previously possible with other types of pre-formed media.Plastic media combines a blend of resins and abrasives (more specifically, silica, silicate, and in some cases, aluminum oxide) in grain sizes from coarse to microcrystalline. Each formulation provides the most desirable surface finish.Plastic media will produce the lowest micro-inch surface finish, compared to other types of media, without creating surface impregnation. It is an excellent media for pre-plate, pre-buff, pre-paint finishes and deburring without rolling the burr.The three specific product compositions of this plastic media cover the complete spectrum when surface refinement is a prerequisite.
