Being offered for sale is a 36 Volt Deka lead acid forklift Battery with specifications as follows:
Type: 18-D125-17 For use in industrial lift trucks 173F
Rated 6 Hr Amp Hour Capacity 1000
Battery size = 38" long X 20" Wide X 30.5" high.
Writing on this battery indicates that it was installed new in 1999. I do not know if this is true or not but you may be able to tell by the serial number.
We got this battery from a Raymond forklift that we purchased from the US Government and have parted out due to an electrical control problem with the lift. That lift and this battery appeared to have not been used in a while.
We added quite a bit of water to this battery and gave it a charge. It seems to have taken a charge well but we have no way of testing it properly under full load over time. I can plug it into my other lift and it shows full charge on the display and will run the mast just fine. Since it is phisicaly not the right size, I am not able to install it into my lift and give it a good test to tell how long it will last under normal conditions. Voltage measured on each cell were all very even and around 2 volts / cell. Hydrometer readings were taken and each cell was at 1.175
