Descriptions and features:
High-quality conventional 1-inch condenser microphones such as Brüel & Kjær Types 4144 and 4145 have a typically inherent noise level of 10 dB (A). Together with the preamplifier (yet another noise source) they provide a combined assembly noise floor of around 11 dB (A) and hence a useful measurement range from around 14 dB and upwards. High sensitivity -inch Types such as 4189 and 4190 allow measurements from around 19 dB (A) but due to the smaller dimensions they cover a wider frequency range up to 20 kHz.
* Careful design, built-in compensation, and regulation circuitry provide a high supply voltage noise rejection ratio, high-temperature stability, and over-voltage protection
* Handles sound pressure levels up to more than 110 dB
* 20 dB preamplifier gain this means that the input noise of the front-end is less important for the overall performance
